I will be 17-years-old. I want to go to University to become a scientist. I want to study potions to make a liquid that doesn’t hurt the world and takes apart plastic. I will also be a ballerina. And maybe a famous ice skater.

I will still be doing my blogs because you will learn more about saving the world. And you will know how to protect the environment.
Greenhouse gases are on my mind.
They are:
- Water vapour – this water is gas high in the atmosphere. Clouds are water vapour when it turns into droplets of water and can make rain. Lightening also comes from clouds.
- Carbon dioxide – CO2 is from living things and dead things decaying. It is also from volcanoes and from burning fossil fuels.
- Methane – Animal windy pops, growing rice and mining coal.
- Ozone – O3 helps protect us from the sun’s rays
- Nitrous oxide -N20 bacteria in soil and oceans make it.
- Chlorofluorocarbons (CFCs) – these damage the ozone layer.
“Ice rink refrigerants, much like those in household refrigerators, contain potent greenhouse gases that warm the atmosphere. Common synthetic refrigerants called hydrofluorocarbons (HFCs) have a Global Warming Potential (GWP) hundreds to thousands of times stronger than that of carbon dioxide (CO2)” facts from the Environmental and Energy Study Institute.
Maybe we can find a way to make an ice skating rink and do ice skating that doesn’t hurt the environment.
Greenhouse gases are only bad if we have too much of them.
Cleo 🙂
